Job Description

Our healthcare advertising & promo agency client, based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire is looking for a brilliant Senior Account Director who will serve as a brand champion and manage multiple accounts and account teams. Primary job functions are to supervise the management of account groups and build business withing the current clients.

Supervision and development of account teams is critical to this position.

The agency has a broad base of clients withing the pharmaceutical business with a wide variety of products and services, so you will require the ability to handle a multitude of different things at any one time, and keep the balls in the air at all times … not an easy task.

You will need to fully understand brand building, ensuring that all agency efforts and creative campaigns are in the best interests of ‘building the brand’. This means challenging strategies, client direction occasionally, market research results, programmes or ideas that are not fully aligned with the brand positioning.

The management of each account will need special attention, because each one is different, involving multiple personalities. You will need a sharp understanding of budgetary issues and be skilful at forecasting and reconciling finance issues.

Standards here are high, and you will be expected to uphold and increase adherence to these standards. There will be expectations of you continuously improving the agency’s output, and meeting and exceeding forecasts. Developing the account handling team to exceptional standards will be expected as above standard.

You should have a number of years’ experience at senior account handling level at a healthcare advertising and branding agency, and be close enough to the office to enable multiple onsite attendance.
